Emmett Reistroffer

Lighthouse Strategies LLC
General Manager
Emmett’s professional roots and passion run deep in cannabis activism, stemming from his first call to action at 19 years old when he volunteered to help multiple sclerosis patients testify at the South Dakota State Capital. From there, while attending classes at the University of South Dakota, Emmett built a local movement in support of medical cannabis by speaking to the press, raising money, and inspiring volunteers. Up against some of the nation’s harshest drug laws, Emmett was able to form a non-profit organization, South Dakota Compassion, and partnered with the former chairman of the MS Society to organize patients, advocates and elected officials. Emmett has provided leadership to legalization campaigns in Oregon, Montana, Washington DC, and Nevada and played an important role in the historic passage of Colorado’s Amendment 64. With a broad range of advocacy and political experience, Emmett formed his own consulting company in 2011 to help organizations, candidates and issue-based campaigns. Emmett’s company served members of both major political parties and provided third parties and independents a needed boost to compete in key states.

Since then, Emmett worked at Denver Relief Consulting for three years as a policy researcher and business consultant, served a term on the Englewood, Colorado Local Liquor & Medical Marijuana Licensing board, and since January 2018 has worked as the General Manager at Silver State Wellness, a Nevada based manufacturer of cannabis infused products, including Dixie Brands, Mindy's Artisinal Edibles and Two Roots Brewing, the world's first legal and commercially available cannabis-infused beer product. In 2016, Emmett led Denver’s successful ballot campaign for cannabis social consumption, and served on the city's implementation committee to draft additional rules and oversight of the first-of-kind permitting program. Emmett's primary interests are promoting best practices and positive community impacts within the cannabis industry, and opening some of the world's first legal and regulated cannabis consumption establishments. Having worked closely with cannabis businesses and community stakeholders for several years, Emmett is eager to promote responsibility, sustainability and best practices in the cannabis industry and to help advance a robust legal cannabis marketplace including legal locations for adult consumption. Emmett will continue to be a revolutionary voice for his generation and make a difference for the cannabis legalization movement.
