Gary Brackett

Brackett Restaurant Group
President & CEO
On the field, Gary was blessed to see success at every level of football through his philosophy of hard work. Since then, he has translated that success into a career as a public speaker, entrepreneur in the food & dining industry, and philanthropist. A passion for bringing ideas to life, dedication to learning, and a relentless work ethic have allowed him to craft his experiences as an athlete, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and family man.  At Rutgers University, he climbed from walk-on his first season, to defensive captain & MVP for his team. Following college, he was able to ascend from undrafted free agent with the Colts his rookie season to captain of a Super Bowl winning team and spend 9 years with the team that gave him his first opportunity.  Since his time in the NFL, he has translated his experiences into a multi-faceted career as an entrepreneur. He established a company and serves as President/CEO of Brackett Restaurant Group which boasts brands such as Indy’s #1 Neighborhood Sports Bar, the Stacked Pickle. The company boasts 9 locations and has been recognized for their excellence in service, value, and variety. He also owns and runs Char Blue, a high-end steakhouse located in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. Brackett Restaurant Group owns a variety of casual dining brands as well as a full-service catering company.  He also has a story to tell. His experience as a professional athlete, entrepreneur, and disadvantaged youth growing up gives him a set of unique experiences that serve as inspiration in times of need. He has developed proven values that serve as metrics in the pursuit of success. He also has a duty to share that story in inspirational, educational, and transformative ways. He is a motivational speaker and has been sharing that story for the past 12 years. His earnest belief is that "Success Leaves Clues" and the people who achieve it are following the templates left behind by their predecessors and putting their creative spin on these processes.  Finally, giving back to the community is his first passion. He started the Impact Foundation with his wife, Ragan. Growing up in New Jersey with dreams of making it big and making a big difference, he worked hard and promised to reach back and impact others if he ever made it big. They started the organization back in 2007 to keep that promise and since then, more than 200,000 youth and families have felt the impact of their work.
