Laura Maddox is a professional bartender and bar manager who works at Small Victory in Austin, Texas. After earning a degree in Conservation and Natural Resource Management from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, she returned to her hometown of Austin in 2011 and split her time between development and field work for the nonprofit conservation industry and working her way through the bar and restaurant world at Midnight Cowboy and McGuire Moorman Hospitality’s Jeffrey’s and Josephine House.

Since Small Victory’s opening, Laura has taken on every possible role as a multitask master: bartender, lead bartender, special events, bar manager, hiring & training, menu conception, education, industry-specific technique workshops, etc. She takes great pride in operating a small business in a historic downtown location in her hometown and works there everyday, keeping a finger on the pulse of the business.
