Richard Welcovitz’s passion around bars and restaurants began in his early years working for local restaurants in the Philadelphia area. His experience taught him about restaurant and bar operations and the art of making customers happy. Rich’s has expertise in leadership, training, and Guest service.

Richard’s food and beverage career has spanned 38 years where he has worked with great companies such as TGI Fridays, Bally’s Park Place in Atlantic City, J. Gilberts Wood Fired Steaks, and Penn National Race Course where he served as the Food and Beverage Director in Harrisburg Pennsylvania.

In 2000 Richard was given the opportunity to join the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando Florida where he managed an assortment of the restaurants and premier lounges on property. These included the award-winning Artist Point restaurant and the Flying Fish Café at Disney’s famous Boardwalk Resort. In 2009 Richard was also a facilitator for the Basics team training over 15,000 Cast Members in a year across the resort. Richard was also fortunate to serve on the opening teams for the Top of the World Lounge at the world-renowned Contemporary Resort in Disney World and Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii.

Richard currently serves as a Business Relations Manager at Disney Springs where he works as a liaison between the Operating Participant businesses such as Art Smith’s Homecoming, Morimoto by Iron Chef Morimoto, Frontera by Rick Bayless, Wolfgang Puck, and Jaleo by Jose Andres!

In addition to his expansive Food and Beverage and training background, Richard received his Sommelier certification in 2003 and Spirits Diploma in 2004. Rich regularly shares his wine and spirits knowledge with his clients which helps to enhance their businesses.  He is also a recipient of Disney’s prestigious Legacy Award, which is a lifetime achievement award for Walt Disney Company.
